Position Summary

Tarleton State University seeks to establish a pool of qualified applicants for Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 (Fiscal Year 2018).

Adjunct instructors are hired to teach on a temporary and part-time basis. Adjunct instructors teaching courses for credit must meet the same requirements for professional and scholarly preparation as their full-time counterparts teaching in the same discipline.

Tarleton State University is looking to expand its pool of applicants for potential adjunct faculty positions at our Southwest Metroplex Center in Fort Worth Texas. We are looking for masters and doctorally-qualified candidates to teach undergraduate and graduate online and face-to-face courses in the following disciplines: Sociology

Males, age 18 through 25, must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for hire. This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Required Education/Experience/Skills

Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree in the discipline or a closely related area and a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Sociology. Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level is desired.

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills (additional qualifications)

An earned doctorate in the discipline (or closely related field) with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Sociology. Prior college teaching experience and appropriate professional certifications and/or licenses are a plus. Online courses are delivered via Blackboard and candidates for these positions should have experience with this or a similar course management system.
